Dan and Renata met on Tinder eight years ago. It worked — but looking back, it felt more like chance than design. Two people in Tasmania, scrolling through the same app as millions of others, somehow finding each other in the noise.
We got lucky. Most people don’t.
The more we looked at how dating apps are built — optimised for engagement, not outcomes — the more we wanted to build something different. Platforms that keep you single keep you paying. Platforms that punish you for not upgrading to gold tier are not on your side.
We wanted to build something that was actually on your side.
