How it works
Deliberate runs waves — carefully timed matching events where every eligible member is scored against every other. Not by preference filters or swipe patterns. By a compatibility engine built on attachment theory, conflict psychology, and behavioural consistency.
The engine looks for structural fit — the kind that holds up under real life, not just good conversation. If it finds a strong enough match, you receive one introduction. Not ten. One.
It also checks for pairings where too much similarity is itself a risk — two people who both avoid conflict, or both need constant reassurance, are matched on paper but fragile in practice. The engine catches that.
Some waves produce no introduction. That’s not a failure. It means the engine didn’t find a match worth making. We’d rather you wait than settle.
What you’ll see
When an introduction arrives, it looks like this. No photo. No small talk. Just what the engine found.
Strong alignment · 87
You share a rare structural compatibility — how you handle conflict mirrors how they seek repair. Your attachment styles don’t just coexist, they actively stabilise each other.
One thing to watch: you both tend to over-function under stress. The engine flagged this not as a weakness, but as something to name early.
In their own words
Describe your ideal Sunday
Long walk with the dog, farmers market, cook something slow, no plans after 3pm.
What do you value most in another person?
Someone who says what they mean. I’ve had enough of guessing.

The process
There are four parts.
A deep psychological questionnaire across 12 sections. Attachment style, conflict and repair patterns, emotional regulation, values, worldview, lifestyle, physical compatibility. 124 questions in total.
It takes time. That’s the point. The depth of your answers directly determines the quality of your introduction — the engine has nothing to work with if you don’t give it something real.
You complete it across three sessions. Each one builds on the last. Take your time — the app saves your progress automatically.
After your questionnaire, you’ll have a 15–20 minute conversation with Tom or Evie — an AI interviewer who has read every answer you gave and is looking for what sits underneath them.
Tom and Evie don’t do small talk. They notice contradictions. They follow threads. They ask the question behind the question. The conversation is scored alongside your questionnaire answers — it changes your match.
If you’re not ready to be honest with a stranger about how you actually show up in relationships — this probably isn’t for you yet. That’s okay.
You said when things go wrong, your mind jumps straight to “I should have seen this coming.” But earlier you described yourself as trusting. I’m curious about that gap.
You: …
Once your profile is complete, Deliberate builds a personal narrative — a three-part reflection of who you are in relationships, what you bring, and what the full picture of your answers suggests would actually work for you. It lives on your profile. It gets sharper as you complete more.
Your profile enters the wave pool for your city. When your wave runs, the engine scores every possible pairing and surfaces the strongest ones. You’ll hear from us either way.
Your introduction
When an introduction arrives, you won’t see photos straight away. You’ll see a compatibility summary — what the engine found between you — and their answers in their own words.
Photos come later. That’s deliberate.
You have 24 hours before you can accept or pass. Take the time.

Founding cohort members pay nothing upfront. Your card is collected now — your $79/month subscription begins only when your wave activates. If you’re not accepted, your card details are deleted immediately.
You can be based anywhere in Australia. If you’re open to interstate introductions, tell us. The engine doesn’t limit by proximity.
The engine is sophisticated. It finds people who are genuinely compatible in the ways that matter for long-term relationships — not the ways that make good first impressions.
What it can’t do is make two people want to put in the effort.
That part is yours.
